Information regarding membership

Membership

The membership grades are determined by the executive and will be -
  • Affiliate or
  • Student or
  • Certified Registered or
  • Graduated Registered or
  • Associate Fellowship or
  • Fellowship
The executive has the authority to identify individuals or groups for
  • Honorary Membership and/or
  • Community award and/or
  • any other mention or award decided on

Transfer of membership

Members of the Parental Alienation Awareness Society International (PAASI), or other recognised professional organisation worldwide, will have their membership recognised by Parental Alienation Awareness Association of Ireland (PAAA)

An independent interim membership manager will confirm and certify the credentials of said applicants BEFORE membership is recognised.

Membership fees

Membership fees will be determined by the executive elected. At present, registration for membership is free. A donation by PayPal is suggested

Applicants will carry all cost of certification of professional membership. The cost will be paid by the applicant directly to an approved contractor for the service. Said cost will be determined before the application is processed and may include:
  • Confirmation of accreditation with other recognised organisations
  • Confirmation of qualifications stated
  • Travelling cost for interview if required
  • Printing of Membership certificate
  • any other cost that may apply.

Executive

All professional members are invited to declare their willingness to serve on the Executive.
Other members declaring their willingness to serve on the executive will be accepted on approval of the current executive.
When the time arise that numbers need to be limited, elections will be called.

Executive

All members will have a voting right, based on membership grading, in any election or referendum. Votes allowed will be -
  • Affiliate or Student – one vote
  • Certified or Graduated Registered – three votes
  • Associate Fellowship or Fellowship – four votes

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is open to any person and is ideal for anyone who is not seeking to become professionally qualified, but who does have a strong interest in the subject of Parental Alienation. Affiliate membership will give you access to membership benefits and does not require any entry qualifications or past experience.

Student Membership

As a student member it is likely at the start of your career in a discipline that may address PA /PAS.
Student Members may use the title "Student Member PAAA" (exact phrase only) in documentation.

Certified Registered

Persons who have satisfactorily completed a PAAA approved or equivalent non-degree training programme and successfully undertaken an PAAA approved assessment of their knowledge and skills may apply for Certified Registered Member status of the PAAA. Certified Registered members may use the title "C.MPAAA"
in documentation.

Graduated Registered

Persons who have satisfactorily completed a degree training programme with a PA / PAS component and successfully undertaken an PAAA approved assessment of their knowledge and skills may apply for Graduated Registered Member status of the PAAA.
Graduated Registered members may use the title "G.MPAAA" in documentation.

Associate Fellowship

Certified or Graduated members that -
  1. supply proof of professional membership of a similar or other approved organisation for a period of 3 years or more or
  2. in exceptional cases completed a vigorous assessment by a panel appointed by the executive 
may be granted Associate Fellowship.
Assocate fellowship members may use the title "G.AFPAAA" or "C.AFPAA" in documentation.

Fellowship

Certified or Graduated members that -
  1. supply proof of professional membership of a similar or other approved organisation for a period of 5 years or more or
  2. in exceptional cases completed a vigorous assessment by a panel appointed by the executive and
  3. Who's acceptance as Fellow is approved by a majority vote of the executive
may be granted Fellowship and may use the title "G.FPAAA" or "C.FPAA" in documentation.

Cancellation of membership

The executive can suspend or cancel any membership on good reason.
